Douglas Simonson is an artist who was based for much of his life in Hawaii. His work is well-known world wide and collected internationally. Working in Hawaii, he was at the heart of the surfing culture of the islands, and was able to draw and paint the young men there in the peak of their physical condition. The owner of the James Collection acquired them over many years, and they form a large part his collection. However, it was decided that there were enough of them to create a special page in the Artists section to display the talents of this popular and original artist on his own.
