The James Collection of Minnesota
A large collection from the American Midwest. It includes a wide variety of art work including painting, drawings and photography. Because of the number of items in the collection, it has been broken up into the works on this page, photographs under Jeff Palmer, Dennis Dean, Robert John Guttke, Mark Lynch, David Morgan, Seva Galkin, Erik Kristian and several other art prints in Other Photographers. The James Collection also has a large collection of drawings by the Hawaiian artist Douglas Simonson.
The collector says: "For the last couple of decades I've been a frequent visitor to London traveling over 3-4 times a year. On one visit in the 1990's I saw an ad for a recently opened gallery - Adonis Art. It happened to coincide with the auction of Rudolf Nureyev's extensive art collection which was creating quite a stir at the time. I hadn't done any collecting before, but it opened me up to the possibilities. I went to the gallery and I purchased my first painting.
I always stopped by the gallery everytime I was in London. For a long time I had one standing requirement, the work had to be small enough to carry on to the plane for the flight home. In time that became too limiting in light of the extensive array of works Adonis Art had on offer that I simply couldn't resist.
In addition to my acquisitions made in London, I've added works by American artists, sculptors, and photographers across the United States.
Now it is time for some rotation in my collection to make way for new works as well as give others the opportunity to enjoy what I have had the pleasure of having."
