The paintings and drawings on this page were discovered in Cornelius McCarthy's studio after his untimely death. Ranging from simple sketches to finished paintings, they demonstrate the consuming need he had to sketch and create that characterised him throughout his life. Most were produced as sketches and exercises and never intended for exhibition. Some were very personal to him. However, they all possess some element of his inspiration and spirit, and many are considerable works of art in their own right.
