John Watkiss is a British artist better known for his work in comics and film. After leaving art college in Brighton he went on to teach life drawing at the Royal College of Art and the Museum of the Moving Image. His interest in film and comics took him to American where he worked for (among others) Ridley Scott, Francis Ford Coppola, Dreamworks, 20th Century Fox and Disney. In the UK he worked for a time with Derek Jarman and Saatchi and Saatchi. His painting, The Boxer, sold at Christies in 2001, and in 2002 he was commissioned to provide a mural for the Ford Museum.
